There are two reasons why you'd want to update your product IDs:
1. Amazon has changed the ASIN of your item, and PriceYak has detected this and put your item out of stock
2. The item is now out of stock on your original chosen source and you wish to update your listing with a new source
Amazon has changed the ASIN of your item, and PriceYak has detected this and put your item out of stock
Amazon will sometimes randomly assign items new ASINs.
We've done a lot of work to try to prevent this from affecting customer operations, and this is the best thing we've come up with so far: In order to make sure that we're ordering the correct item for you despite Amazon's arbitrary ASIN switching, we force these items OOS so that nothing goes wrong. You'll have to go to these out of stock listings in PriceYak and put in the new and correct ASIN for the item.
In PriceYak, go to the details page for any listing with an invalid PID:
Click on the Amazon ID in the second row, and it'll take you to the current Amazon listing.
On that Amazon listing page, click on the little email share envelope that you would use to email the listing to someone. This ASIN in the share link will usually be different from the ASIN in the URL bar of your browser. This is the new ASIN for the item. Go back to that PriceYak listing page, update the product ID to the new ASIN, and hit 'Save."
Also, please make sure that when you click on the Amazon ID, that the link actually takes you to an item that is the same as the item that you listed on eBay. Amazon could have already switched the ASIN to a new product, and you could accidentally link a completely different product to your eBay listing if you're not vigilant. It should be easy to check if it matches your eBay listing though- you can simply click on the eBay ID on your PriceYak listing page to see the listing.
The item is now out of stock on your original chosen source and you wish to update your listing with a new source
You should update the listing's ASIN in PriceYak (on the listing's details page) and then click "Refresh Listing." This will not change the listing's category, so you may need to go on eBay and update the category manually.
